So recently I made a major transition in my life I moved from New York to Georgia. Part of the reason I came to Georgia was to attend Wildwood College of Health & Evangelism (more on the college will be covered in another blog).
I've been here for a little over a month and just this week it snowed pretty heavy down here (heavy at least for the south).
What was interesting wasn't the fact that folks from GA weren't use to this weather but that there were a lot of students on the campus from outside the United states (places such as Brasil, South Africa, and Mexico). Out of this group were individuals who have never seen snow in their entire lives so I was asked to capture a few pictures of the moment.
While shooting I made a discovery that it's good to have fun while you achieve you goals. Of course all work and no re-creation is no go but also that every photo opportunity isn't always about money and grabbing a client but that sometimes it's good just to have fun and connect with those around you. Fun isn't something foreign to me but I am learning to apply it more and more in business.
Walking around with your camera may seem unprofessional as many photographers believe that their business should be taken seriously and not causally. While it does make sense that people understand you aren't just shooting for fun, it's also important that people who know you for a specific skill or talent and having your camera with you is one way of doing just that.
